Matej completed his master´s degree in law at the Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica in 2016, while he completed part of his studies through the Erasmus program at Yeditepe University in Istanbul. In 2019, he became a doctor of international law (JUDr.) at Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica. Since 2018 he has been registered in the list of trustees in bankruptcy and since 2020 in the list of lawyers maintained by the Slovak Bar Association. His hobbies include history, hiking and cycling.
